Beednaïchie Dalusma

Beednaïchie Dalusma was born on December 6, 1996, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, into a family of four: her mother Anide Dalusma, her father Justin Dalusma, and her younger brother Nick Nathanaël Dalusma. As the eldest of the two children, she embodied grace, strength, and quiet resilience. She always carried herself with a strong sense of responsibility and care for her loved ones.

She began her education at Béaba Kindergarten (1998–2001), attended Mamalu for primary school (2001–2008), and completed her secondary studies at Vision Nouvelle and the Institution Classique d’Armand Telcinord (2008–2015). From 2016 to 2020, she pursued a degree at the University of Applied Linguistics. Alongside her university studies, she completed professional training in English at Go On, computer science at Alliance, and culinary arts at Mahanaïm.

After graduating, Beedou worked as an English teacher for young children, held an online job at a call center, and later worked in a government office in Port-au-Prince. A lifelong resident of Delmas 33, she eventually left Haiti through the humanitarian program to begin a new chapter in the United States.

Upon arriving in the U.S., she immediately enrolled in a nursing assistant program, which she completed and became licensed in within just 6 weeks. While studying, she also secured a position with the Department of Children and Families in Florida, where she worked diligently and compassionately. Beedou had dreams and aspirations of one day becoming a nurse, and becoming a certified nurse assistant was just the beginning of the bright future she was building. Tragically, the day after her passing would have been her first official day in her new role as a nurse assistant, all while continuing her work at the Department of Children and Families.

Beedou was deeply rooted in her faith and never hesitated to put God at the center of everything she did. One of her favorite verse was Isaiah 1:19, “If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land;” She carried herself with kindness and humility, never harboring ill intentions toward anyone, regardless of who they were or what they could offer her. Though naturally reserved, she welcomed new connections with warmth and sincerity. Beedou had a joyful presence. She enjoyed spending time with and talking to her family and friends, listening to music, learning new things, and of course, taking pictures. She found peace and joy in the little things, and her calm spirit brought comfort to everyone she encountered. She was a woman of unshakable faith, and her laughter and smile had the kind of power that could easily bring laughter and smiles to others. Even in the midst of her own struggles, she never hesitated to help someone else in need.

During her time working with the Department of Children and Families in Florida, she acted as a first responder in the aftermath of a recent hurricane. Even while her own home was without power, Beedou was out assisting others in helping them find assistance to restore theirs. She had a gentle way of making people feel seen and loved. She never sought the spotlight, her kindness spoke for itself in every action, every word, and every gesture. She showed that true success and the enjoyment of life don’t come from loud achievements, but from walking faithfully with God, staying true to your values, and loving others with your whole heart. Her love for her family was unwavering, and she made sure that love radiated outward to everyone blessed to know her.

Although her life was short, it was full of beautiful moments, and she made sure to live it with purpose, passion, and faith. Her legacy is one of love, light, and quiet strength, a legacy that will live on in every life she touched. Beedou will forever be in our hearts until we meet again.
