Betty Francis-Eugene was born in Port-de-Paix, Haiti, on July 15, 1974, to Michel and Madeline Francis (born Joseph). She received her elementary education at “Les Soeurs Notre Dame du Perpétuel Secours” in Port-de-Paix, and her secondary education at “College Notre Dame de Lourdes” in Port-de-Paix.
Betty came to the United States of America in February 1995. She graduated from Broward Community College (BCC) with an associate degree in 1999.
Afterwards she obtained a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in 2001; then went to Pharmacy School at the University of Florida (UF) and graduated with a Pharmacy degree in 2005.
She did her internship at CVS Pharmacy, Inc. and later worked for that American Retail Corpo- ration for several years. After leaving CVS Pharmacy, she went to work for Walgreens.
Betty married Dackson Eugene on June 11, 2011. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior and got baptized in the Christian faith.
Betty was a true servant of God. She won’t get up in the morning without having a Personal Christian Devotion. She enjoyed reading and meditating on the Word of God. Her dream has always been to see Jesus face to face.
When a tight group of her close friends went to visit her at the hospital, she expressed to them that she was not afraid of dying once she is able to join the Family of God in the first resurrection.
Betty was passionate about higher education. She always told people how she strived for excellence and hoped to get there with discipline and hard work. And she did.
She was a calm, compassionate and peaceful person with strong family values. Betty will be missed greatly and fondly remembered by the family and friends who loved her dearly. Betty faced several health-related challenges and setbacks including an open-heart surgery.
She always bounced back strongly except this last time since, in the morning of August 31, 2023 at 3:04 am, after a long period of courageously endured illnesses, the breath of Betty Francis Eugene returned to his Creator. She passed away at Advent Health Hospital in Orlando.
