Calvin Leone Smith, Jr. was born to Jimmy Smith and Bertha Murphy in Calvin Leone Smith, Jr. was born to Jimmy Smith and Bertha Murphy inDunnellon, Florida on July 1, 1965. He grew up in Sebring, Florida andattended Sebring High School. Calvin spent 27 years of his life in the Florida Department of Corrections, where he was fortunate to learn a series of trades and come to know Christ. Finally, the time for Calvin to be released had arrived and he walked out of the prison doors in 2016 with optimism, ready to start his new life. Upon his release, Calvin was searching for a way to jump-start his career when he met Julie and Harriett Samaroo as they were planting their church a new garden. Always being the man to the rescue, Calvin offered to help these people, whom later became his new family. Calvin became a loyal member of Ivey Lane Church of Christ, where he was able to learn more about the Bible and strengthen his relationship with Christ. Calvin's life was finally coming together and he proudlypronounced himself to be a handyman. Calvin had the power to complete anything that he placed his hands on and spent each and every day using these abilities that God had blessed him with. Each thing, whether big or small, Calvin completed it with sincere passion and immaculate perfection. Calvin happily volunteered to be a barber to many senior citizens who were immobile and a friend to those who had none. He had a genuine and rare personality, one that was selfless and always in the pursuit of helping others in every and any way that he could. Calvin was blessed with the knowledge and willingness that produced nothing but greatness. He always had a smile that was capable of uplifting a dull household and making it bright again. Most importantly, he carried a genuine love for others that will forever be in the hearts of every soul that he has ever touched. Calvin will forever be missed by his family and friends, for heaven gained a remarkable and irreplaceable soul on September 27, 2017.
