Emmet Taylor

Reflection of Life

A Time to be Born

Emmet Taylor was born in Selma Alabama on October 25th, 1944 to Evangelist Taylor and Florence Taylor.

A Time to Live and Serve

Emmet attended Dallas County Public Schools. He went on to march with the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr in the Selma to Montgomery March in 1965. Shortly after, he relocated to Orlando, Florida in the late 1960s. Later, he met and married Rosa Taylor, his wife of 42 years.

He began his career in the plumbing and irrigation sector and retired from New Bird Corporation. He took pride in his landscaping duties at home and providedchildcare to his grandkids. He had a special flare about himself: a mixture offirmness and humor.  He continued the family tradition of Sunday dinner and provided care to his family and friends. He was a devoted son, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will truly be missed.
