Gertrude Metellus

Mrs. Marie Gertrude Zamor Metellus was born to Lucee Zamor and Rizna Regina Pierre Zamor in Dessalines, Haiti, on January 1, 1939. She grew up in Port-Au-Prince Haiti. She obtained her Seamstress and Culinary of Arts Certificate from "La Fee de Foyer". She worked in the Clothing industry in New York for 30 years. Mrs. Marie Gertrude was the pillar of her family, she knew every family member and kept in touch with all. Everyone knew that they could expect a phone call from her out of the blue. She was a prayerful woman, loved to cook and tell jokes. She was known as "Mummy". If she liked you, she would immediately identify you as her son, or daughter. She loved her friends, family and would always extend herself to help everyone when she was able to. Mrs. Marie Gertrude was preceded in death by her brothers Dieu-Grand, Marc Elie & Joceline Zamor. On December 6, 2017 Mrs. Marie Gertrude Z. Metellus as called Home to be with the Lord. She leaves to cherish her memories: Her Children: Prince, Erika, Raquel Metellus Her Grand-children: Kierah Marcelin, Kariyo, Prince A. Junior, Rockiel Her Siblings: Jean-Claude, Charles Hernry, Rostan, Lucien, Saintel, Philipe, Gerald, Gerard, Gisele, Clorene and Marie-Maude Her God-Children: Clara, Mimose, Maggie, Esther, Joubert, Her Nieces and Nephews: Myriam, Cliff, James, Sherly, Magalie, Harold, Fanfan, Erline, Marjorie, Fabiola, Carmelite, Serge, Mari-Rose, and a host of other family and friends who have been affected by this loss.
