Her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication persisted until her very last day. She was a founding member of AHVED, the Haitian Association Living Abroad for the Development of Haiti.

A devoted Christian and lifelong Catholic, Joujou’s faith in God was unwavering and deeply inspiring. She was known for her selflessness and generosity, always giving to others even when she had little to spare. Her dedication to her faith was evident in her active involvement at Notre Dame Du Perpetuel Secours in Saint-Marc, where she was a pillar of the community and a shining example of Christian values.

Joujou’s indomitable spirit and strong personality earned her the nickname “iron lady.” She faced life’s challenges with resilience and grace. Passionate about traveling and pilgrimage journeys, Joujou also cherished time with her family and friends. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She had a unique relationship with each of her children, raising them with a foundation of love, respect, and faith in God.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith, celebrated by her five children: Marie-Marthe, Adonyce, Paulucienne, Kethline, and Martine Volcy; her seven grandchildren: Yanka Volcy, Rick-Paul Jean Simon, Jason Jerome, Paola Jean Simon, Jessica Jerome, Ayden, and Audrey Volcy; and numerous stepchildren, including the sons and daughters of Polynice Volcy.
