Jacques Saint Louis was born on January 10, 1928 in Gonaives, Haiti to Auguste Saint Louis and Claudia Guillaume. He was one of five children: Renee, Lunie, Therese, Jacques and Michele. The relationship he shared with his siblings was an unbreakable bond filled with love and compassion in which he cherished very deeply.
While in Haiti he became a high school teacher, where he taught sports education. He enjoyed sports very much that besides teaching it he also coached children teams.
He furthered his education and became a lawyer. Jacques migrated to the United States in the 1960s and lived in Manhattan for a few years until he made permanent residence in Rego Park, Queens. He worked in Midtown Manhattan’s Business District as a textile designer, where he was gainfully employed for over 20 years.
Tenacity, diligence, and hard work were just some of the wonderful characteristics Jacques possessed in his profession as well in his personal life. In the years that followed, he met Antonia and had a daughter in which he named after his mother, Claudia. A few years later he met and married Angel and had a son named Reginald (Deceased)
Jacques was a man of few words but when he spoke you were always certain to hear a joke attached to it. He was an avid dominoes player and took the game very seriously. If you were playing with him you were not allowed to engage in any conversation with him or anyone else, just focus on the game. Another pass time of his was getting together with family and friends and reminiscing about the wonderful times that growing up in Haiti.
Jacques was called home to glory on July 5, 2023 at 11:30am at Palmetto General Hospital.
Jacques leaves behind to cherish his memory and love, his daughter Claudia, granddaughter Christina, Constant Rosemond neices Natalie, Virginie and Amelle, Frederica, Mika nephew Jacky, Frederic and a vast amount of grieving cousins, family members and friends that will miss him dearly.
