Jean Sorel Conserve

December 6, 1962 — June 8, 2024

Jean Sorel Conserve

From the moment we are born to the day we depart; every moment is a precious gift we cherish in our hearts. On June 8, 2024, Jean Sorel Conserve was called to be with the Lord. Jean was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, father-in-law, and friend. Born to the late Fatramise Hyppolite and Mecene Conserve in Guedon Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti, on December 6, 1962, Jean was the third of four children. He was a loving brother to Gladis Conserve, Ametide Conserve, and the late Linda Conserve.

In the late 1980s, Jean met Nahomie, his devoted wife. Together, they raised six children: Eduine Conserve, Nandy Aristhene Conserve, Landa Conserve, Nehemie Conserve, the late Samuel Conserve, and Jason Conserve. In 2001, Jean made the courageous decision to leave Haiti and immigrate to the United States. After living in Naples, FL, for a few years, he moved to Key West, FL, in May 2007. In February 2009, he joyfully reunited with his family, bringing his wife and children to join him in the U.S.

Jean was a dedicated employee, working for the same company for 17 years. Despite the separation from his family when they moved to Orlando, he remained steadfast in his commitment to his job in Key West, frequently traveling back and forth to be with his family. He planned to retire and move to Orlando, but God called him to be home sooner than Jean had planned.

Jean was a man of rare qualities—gentle, kind, and unassuming, with a heart of gold. To everyone, he was "Sorel"; to his children, he was "Gran Boss," a name he truly embodied. Jean was a hard-working man who made countless sacrifices for his family. His greatest pride was witnessing two of his daughters become Registered Nurses. Though he modestly called them "doctors," his pride and love for his children were evident to all who knew him. Jean's life was one of impact. His love, kindness, and empathy touched everyone he met. The stories shared by those who called to pay their respects highlighted how he had helped them in times of need, bringing smiles to our faces and pride to our hearts.

Jean is survived by his loving wife, Nahomie Conserve, and his daughters, Eduine Conserve, Nandy Aristhene Conserve, Landa Conserve, and Nehemie Conserve; his sons, the late Samuel Conserve, Jason Conserve, and Robens Conserve; his sons-in-law, Widler Aristhene, Jeff Joseph, and Judelson Estiverne; his grandsons, Jaylens Aristhene and Jayden Aristhene, and his only granddaughter, Jaylie Aristhene; his sisters, Gladis Conserve and Ametide Conserve, and his late sister, Linda Conserve; and his nieces and nephews, Chrisler Joseph, Carline Conserve, Mardochée Jean-Philippe, Billy Jean-Philippe, Obens Jean-Philippe, Gregory Jean-Philippe, Rachelle Jean-Philippe, and Sephora Jean-Philippe.

We are deeply thankful for the time and memories we shared with Jean. He will forever hold a special place in our hearts, and we will always be proud to call ourselves his daughters and sons.
