Jean Amadeau Fleurinor

The day JEAN AMADEAU FLEURINOR saw the light, March 29, 1941, in Cabaret, Jean-Rabel, the sun lit in all its splendor casting blissful rays in the hearts of his parents. The first born of Absolon Fleurinor and Melanie Belizaire, the gentle, kind, respectful Jean brought joy, pride, and happiness to the parents’ hearts, and the family at large.

Jean A. Fleurinor grew up in the city of Port-de-Paix where he attended and completed his formaleducation. At the age of 11, his beloved mother Melanie died after giving birth to her youngest child. Longing for love, in the prime of his life, before accepting Christ as his personal Savior, Jean conceived with Lucianie Sainvil, through an idyllic relationship, their first child. They named herMadeline, a pure and loving soul emblematic of a high tower, sublime and strong. In search of a better life and concerned for his siblings’ well-being after his late father remarried, Jean migrated to the Bahamas leaving behind, his precious jewel/daughter, six other siblings, and his father.

While in the Bahamas, Jean tried effortfully to reunite with his then soulmate, but all attemptsmixed with parental constraints were to no avail. Jean, an avid reader, familiar with the Aristoteliansaying, “nature abhors a vacuum”, sought to fill a void which Ms. Olga temporaneously satisfied.This short-lived union brought to life a boy named Bidner.

With greater aspirations to better himself and with continued desire to provide for his siblings, children, and family, Jean decided to migrate to the United States of America. In January 1970, hesettled in Brooklyn New York. Jean worked fiercely various jobs, including working as a taxi driver,to achieve his set objectives.

Meanwhile, In the Winter of 1970, Jean miraculously received in a dream a divine calling to accept the Seventh Day Adventist message. In strict obedience, the Saturday following his dream,Jean, then a Catholic, frantically searched for a Seventh Day Adventist church, in a snowy Sabbath morning. Soon, God sent his way a Good Samaritan (Samuel Jocelyn), on his way to church, whowillingly accompanied Jean to Hebron SDA church. The two would harbor a lasting brotherly relationship that only death could severe. Not long after, Jean answered Pastor MathieuBirmingham’s appeal and Jean sealed his decision through baptism in the faith, in December 1970.

Solitude nevertheless evaded his heart during that 1970’s Winter season. Jean’s heart skipped a beat when he saw Rose-Philomene Cineus. A symbiotic relationship formed between the couple who sealed their union and commitment in marriage, a few months later. Reunited respectively with his son Bidner and his daughter Madeline, the family nucleus would be formed.

In 1979 the family (Jean, Rose, Madeline & Bidner) moved to Florida, escaping the rough cold temperature of the North. In Miami Florida where they resided, Jean labored with all his might, first as a certified nursing assistant, at North Shore Medical Center, then, as an entrepreneur, a dealership owner to provide for his immediate and extended families and friends. Jean unselfishly sponsored to the United States all his siblings with all their children. He was the pillar, the rock of the entire Fleurinor family.

From 1972 to 2021 Jean served the Seventh Day Adventist church as Deacon, Personal MinistryDirector, Dorcas Ministry Director, Elder, and first Elder respectively at Hebron SDA in New York, At Northside SDA church in Miami, at Sion in Miami, Hebron SDA, and at many other local churches. He was a music lover and sang Bass in many choirs (Hebron NY Sanctuary Choir, Northside Adult Choir, Sion adult choir, & Hebron SDA, Miami adult choir). His love for everyone,and beloved by everyone has earned him the surname “Papi Jean”.

Papi Jean’s attachment to mommy Rose was indissociable. This eternal union momentarily pausedwhen Rose surnamed ‘mommy Fifi’ died in April 2005. Despite his attempts, Papi would barely fillthe gap caused by her premature death. She remained forever encapsulated in his heart.

Full of life, energetic, laborious, Papi Jean refused to retire. He devoted his last days to preaching the gospel to his neighbors, gardening, and even serving his community as a Crossing guard. He found joy and true happiness hearing the students/children calling him ‘grandpa’.

Sadly, Papi Jean succumbed to his illness, Sunday, the 2nd of July 2023 in Miami Floria, with his daughter and other family members at his bedside, in the same hospital where he began his career asa healthcare provider. He left mourning his beloved daughter Madeline Fleurinor Milien and son in-law Evens Milien, his son Bidner Fleurinord;

His grandchildren Jevanni, Jayvens and Katherina/Princess, Milien; Josiah and Mathias,Fleurinord;

This separation also grieves the heat of his sisters: Rosita,Fleurinor and Vierla Joseph and husband Felix Joseph

His brothers Bernicier Fleurinor and spouse Lucienne Fleurinor; and Jussien Fleurinor.

His nieces and nephews Guirlande Rock and husband Theodule Rock; Marc Sainvil and Spouse
