Jean Verna was born on January 25, 1941 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Jean lived in several cities before calling Miami Beach, Florida, his home; a place he loved dearly.
A private and independent individual, Jean was known for his sharp intellect and deep passion for political discussion. He was a lover of Haitian and Hispanic music, enjoying walks, dancing, and the simple pleasures of life, including people-watching from his favorite places. A true connoisseur of Haitian cuisine, he found joy in cooking for himself, always putting love and care into every dish. One of his greatest pleasures was relaxing alone, reflecting on the future with optimism and humor. He often joked that if he ever won the lottery, the first thing he would do is call his beloved wife, Anne Marie, whom he adored deeply.
A devoted follower of the news, Jean kept himself well-informed on current events and enjoyed engaging in thoughtful discussions. He was a man who valued knowledge, had a deep sense of self-reliance, and lived life on his terms, but above all, he was a man with a heart full of love for his family.
Jean had a varied professional career, working in banking, government, and as a security guard. Throughout his career, he demonstrated commitment, dedication, and a strong work ethic.
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Jean Verna, who peacefully left us at the age of 84 on March 22, 2025.
He is survived by his loving WIFE: Anne Marie Verna, their three CHILDREN: Daphne Verna, Natalie Verna, and Tamara Verna Kegler; five GRANDCHILDREN: Keith Verna, Brittany Verna, Keiamber Verna, Jolie Verna, and Isaiah Verna; BROTHER: Carlo Verna, NIECES: Nadja Chenet, Carline Verna, Patricia Rene Clervil-Clarke, and NEPHEWS: Ricardo Kenol and William Verna. Jean’s love for his family, his independence, and his passion for life will be remembered by all who knew him.
Rest in peace, Jean. You will be missed, and your legacy will live on.
