Jeanine Bastien

Jeanine Bastien, a woman of unwavering strength and grace, was born on May 1, 1944, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to Merite Altiné and Clermancie Charles. She was the 7th of their 11 children.

Jeanine attended College Georges Marc in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and at the age of 18 married her sweetheart, Arnold Bastien.

In support of her husband’s ambitions, accompanied him to Paris, France.

They relocated to New York City where they operated their import-export business.

Subsequently, they returned to Haiti. While in Haiti, she worked in the Accounting Department at GTE Sylvania and Omicron for several years.

The family relocated and eventually settled in Miami, Florida where she attained her Bachelor of Sciencedegree in Business Administration.

Her professional legacy led her to the field of Education where she taught for 10 years and eventually retired.

Jeanine was known for her warmth, infectious laughter, contagious personality and wonderful zest for life.

She was a very caring woman and always surrounded herself with her family, which is where she felt the most comfortable and loved.

Jeanine transitioned peacefully on March 27th, 2025, at the age of 80 at JFK Hospital in Atlantis, FL.

She was predeceased by her late husband, Maître Arnold Bastien. She is survived by her sons: Yves Arnauld and Patrick Bastien; her daughter: Jessie Bastien; and her grandchildren: Noah, Jaylinn and Thai Bastien.

Jeanine was deeply loved by close friends and extended family including her siblings, nieces and nephews.

Jeanine will be greatly missed by those around her and especially her close relatives.
