Joseph A. Geneste was born on May 2nd 1933. He grew up with five (5) brothers and sisters in a community called Belanje, the fifth section of Saint Marc. He was the third child to his mother Lauriza Alliance and his father Dieuhomme Geneste. He completed his primary school in a local school called Maitre Jacques. This is where he learned to read and write.
In the year 1953 he met a beautiful woman named Margueritte Anel, who would later become his wife. To this union, five children were born: Julienne Geneste Louis, Rosemene Geneste Joseph, Micheline Geneste Beaubrun, Charlemont Genestin, Wilson Geneste.
Ten years later he met another beautiful woman named Jezimene Fleuradin and together they had three children: Alourde Geneste, St Armoud Geneste, Saintana Geneste.
He also has nine (9) grand-children: Juliette Myrthil, Jamesly Louis Juste, Sabrina Cherilus, Richard Joseph, Lacrecia Joseph, Ronaldo Geneste, Marilynne Beaubrun, Charmene Genestin, & Deandre Genestin
In Haiti, Joseph A. Geneste owned a rice garden. With this garden he was able to take care of his whole family. He left Haiti in 1993, at the age of 63, so he can be closer to his children in America. He lived there for twenty (20) years. He was always happy. He loved to work hard, be around family, eat good food, and dance to folklore. He also enjoyed the company of his close friends and family. After living in the USA for twenty (20) years he returned to Haiti to continue enjoying his life in his home country. About six (6) months ago his kids brought him back to the USA to receive medical attention.
On Monday the 25th of September, around 8:30 PM, after a nice dinner he went to sleep. Shortly after falling asleep, he transitioned peacefully at the age of 90.
Dad, we love you a lot and we can’t wait to see you again in a beautiful paradise where there won’t be any more sickness or death. John 5:28 - 29 says “Do not be amazed at this. For the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.”
