Joseph Saint-Juste

Joseph was born on May 6, 1947 in Saint-Michel-de-l’Attalaye, Haiti to the parentage of the late Eliacine Elicaint and Senexant Saint-Juste. He was one of 8 children his parents gave birth to while in Haiti. He spent the early part of his life in Haiti where he got his schooling and worked for the Haitian Government. Joseph was a very studious person in school and he completed his studies at a local university. He was well diverse in doing social work for the government. He spoke many languages such as French, Creole, Spanish and English. It's during this time when he met Freda, whom he married in 1976. Wanting to provide a better life for himself and his family, he left Haiti in 1978 and moved to Brooklyn, New York. He worked diligently in trying to get his wife and first child in the United States. Eventually, he would be successful in doing so and finally got his family to New York. While living in New York, Joseph met a man who taught him the craft he has done for over 40 years. This man helped him along the way as he got licensed to become a barber. He spent time as a barber at numerous barber shops and salons. After about 12 years, they relocated to Orlando where he and his family have called home for over 25 years. Joseph moved to Orlando and would open his own barber shop. He and his wife raised their family in Orlando. He enjoyed being a father, husband and barber but he also was a Man of God. Yes, he learned his craft and enjoyed doing it each day of his life. Not because of the craft solely but because of the amount of people he would come across and be able to talk to about Jesus Christ. He was a strong believer and spent his downtime in the Word. He would even preach from time to time at local churches in the Orlando area. He was a mentor, friend and father to so many who knew him. He lived his life knowing that tomorrow was not promised and that God was the only one who granted another day. Joseph was a good father and instilled a lot of important values into his children. He saw them grow up to be men and women. He got to see all his children graduate with their Bachelor's Degree and start their own lives. He wanted them to chase their dreams no matter the cost. He always taught his children the importance of an education and to always be persistent and work hard. Outside of these things, he enjoyed spending time with his nephews, Nicholas and Ezra. On Monday, December 11, 2017, Joseph was called Home to be with the Lord. Sharing the memories of his wonderful life are: His Wife: Freda His Sons: James, Woodley and Jason. His Daughter: Rebecca His Grandchildren: Nicholas and Ezra His Siblings: Lamartine, Eddie, Silvani, Martha and a host of other friends and family that have been affected by this loss.
