Leonie Louis

Leonie Louis was born in the city of Gros-Morne on October 19, 1933, to her late father and mother, Gedeus Louis and Leone Cadau. Leonie grew up in David at Savanne Carre; at a young age, her father sent her to Port-au-Prince where she attended school where she learned to become a Seamstress. After returning to Gros-Morne, Leonie served her community well and took great care of her young daughter. She was well known and very respected in the community, with her sewing machine. Leonie raised nine children : Priscilla Etienne, Jocelyne Moleon Casimir, Gabrielle Louis, Rose-Marie Louis, Marie Claire Louis Beldor, Thimoleon Louis, Katia Louis, Lucresse Louis, and Sofia Louis. Leonie Louis migrated to the United States of America on September 16, 2003, where she lived until her death. 

Leonie passed away On December 3rd, 2024. Left to cherish her memories are her 9 children: Pricile Etienne, Jocelyne Moleon Casimir, Rose Gabrielle Louis Dolne, Rose Marie Louis Ambroise, Marie Claire Louis Beldor, Thimoleon Louis, Katia Louis, Lucresse Louis & Sofia Louis; Her Sister: Mariecienne Louis; Her Nieces and Nephews: Nativita Cedieu Fourien, Roro, Darline, Chenier, Gracieuse, Cgerloune, Andre, Sandy, & Davidson Louis; Her Grandchildren: Jacques, Rodolph, Ruth, Widline, Guerline & Junior Joseph; Vitaly, Nathalie, Mariastine, Jean Marc Junior, Dimitry and Maalah Moleon, Michaelle and Irving Milor Dolna, Rose Myrrhe, Romeo Victor & Romer Labady Ambroise, Wender, Martha & Passchur Beldor, Bethoven, Fabrice Fabriana & Bradley Louis, Luidgy Noha Louis, Faberlie Fils Desjardins & Diane Saint; Her Daughter-in-law and Son-in-law: Denise Mona Louis,Gregoire Moleon,Roudy Ambroise, Wesner Beldor and Millionaire Dolne, 29 Great-Grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. 

Leonie Louis was a loving and caring person. She dedicated her life to the Lord Jesus Christ. 

“Grann Nannie”, we will miss you. Our hearts are sore, and as time goes by, we will miss you more. Your loving smile and gentle face— no one can fill your vacant place. 

Leonie Louis, Grann, and Sr Nannie. Those we love don’t go away. They walk beside us every day, still loved and missed.
