Levet Lemaille

Today we celebrate the life of Levet Lemaille. He was born in Lauzandier Anse-a-Veau, Haiti on December 03, 1960, to Matila and Leveil Lemaille. He was the last of nine (9) children. Unfortunately, the first six (6) children passed at a very young age and he was raised by his sister Catherine Lemaille and his brother Gaston Lemaille. He moved to the United States with his family in September 2023.

‘Movetan’ was his nickname as most of you know. His nickname originated at birth from a terrible hurricane. To this day he is known as such. At age eighteen (18) he lost his father and became independent. He had to go to work and still attended school.

Levet was a tough man, hard worker, kind, empathetic and always available to help people around him. He liked to give advice to people grown or young and loved socializing. He was part of several organizations in his locality such as ADSH and UVAH that helped in education and social activities.

In 1985 he traveled to St Martin. Unfortunately, after six (6) months they sent him back to Haiti where he lived with his mother. Since then, he decided to do business, travel to Les Cayes, Fond-des-Negres and Port-au-Prince. In1991, he met a beautiful woman named Hannecie Metelus and he fell in love. Two years later he got married and had four (4) children, two boys and two girls: Peter-Blondy Lemaille, Ruth-Thiama Lemaille, Angelette Loucie Lemaille and L’henadade Nego Lemaille.
