Lormilus Petithomme was born to the parents of Cherisma Petithomme and Christina Sema on December 18, 1917 in Jean Macoute Bombardopolis, Haiti. He attended school in Haiti and he belonged to a generation that measured men by their honesty and courage. While in Haiti, Lormilus worked very hard and became a carpenter and a shipwright (which is someone who builds boats for a living). He was a good samaritan, he always welcomed people into his home. He was also a missionary and always preached the gospel wherever he went. His home became the first house to become a church which was called Maranatha Baptist Church. Lormilus was a great leader in his community.
As a loving and caring man, Lormilus pledged his unconditional love in holy matrimony to his beautiful wife, Silmis Petithomme, born Silmise Ivana AnacrayonLiberal and they spent 71 wonderful years together. They were blessed with ten amazing children: Rodney (Volny), Lebien (Sonic), Pharamon (deceased), Jean Wilton (deceased), Masseau (Wilzick) Erlune, Mercenieuse, Gislaine, Merana, and Albenise (Monise). Lormilus was a hard working, devoted and loving father, who always strived for success. He carried his family in his heart. He was always there to give a helping hand, even if he didn’t have anything to give he always found a way. He loved his family and he instilled in his children the highest levels of morals and values which they will carry with them for lifetime.
Lormilus and his wife came to the United States in 1989 to live with their children. On March 27, 2015 Lormilusofficially became a naturalized citizen. Lormilus was very passionate about the word of God, he had a great heart and a wonderful spirit. He was an active long time member of Mount Zion Evangelical Baptist Church in Miami, FL which is under the leadership of Rev. CivilienCherfils.
On Monday September 20, 2021, at the age of 103 Lormilus Petithomme was hand picked by God to fulfill his role as an angel in Heaven. Even though he is gone in the flesh, his memory will live forever in our hearts.
