Louis Derval

Louis Joas Derval was born on May 13, 1947, in Ranquite, Haiti, to Saintalma Derval and Saintania Desrsvines. He is the firstborn in his family. Louis attended Ranquite National School from kindergarten through high school. After graduating, he enrolled in a technical school to study sewing. He worked as a tailor in Hinche, Haiti, for many years.

Later, he moved to Delmas, Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, where he made new friends and became a father to a beautiful baby boy. An opportunity then arose for him to move to the United States. In Orlando, Florida, he returned to school to pursue a career in the Culinary Arts. Shortly after, he was blessed with a daughter.

During this time, Louis met and married his wife, Calendenna. He also rekindled his faith and became an influential member of the Catholic Church, deeply involved in the Haitian community, particularly at St. Andrew, St. Francis, Fatima, and St. James churches. He would often put others before himself, serving as a great motivator and loving husband and father.

Left to cherish his memories is his wife Calindenna Washington; Son: Frantz Derval & wife Linda; daughter: Jaleesa Miller & husband Ethan; stepdaughter: Samantha Richardson; stepsons: Casey Dorsilon and Emmanuel Dorsilon; grandchildren: Jacob,

Abigaelle, Janael, Taraji, Elijah, Journey, Trinity and Isaiah; sister: Jaqueline Derval and husband Bendik Louis; brothers: Gabriel Derval, Goerges Derval, Clemant Derval

and Herold Derval.

May his soul rest in peace.
