Marckly Joseph was born on April 8th, 1971 in Gonaives, Haiti.He was raised by his father Abelon Joseph and his mother Roselene Metayer along with his 6 brothers and 3 sisters. He was the eighth child of a family of 10 children. He was known to be a loving father to his three children, a supportive brother to his siblings and a born leader to his peers and friends. He was highly distinguished by his charismatic leadership throughout his entire life in many endeavors he was set to embark on.
Marckly Joseph, a natural political genius and a specialist in international relations, was the President/CEO of Leadership International Corporation LINC, a think tank and nonprofit organization for democracy support and minority empowerment based in South Florida. Growing up, Marckly had a passion for international and domestic diplomacy. Prior to residing in the United States, from 1995 to 1998, Marckly was Director of Public Relations for the Consular & Diplomatic National Academy in Haiti. He was responsible for the University and Diplomatic Magazine "Le Diplomate" which developed and implemented academic programs for student’s exchanges to benefit a number of Haitian students from different universities in the USA and Europe (Award University in Washington DC and "Le Centre Diplomatique de Paris").
In 1996, he was an investigator for Brown & Root CO., (a semi private and US Army Company in Haiti) with the mission of conducting investigations and processing vehicle accident claims. His career in Haitian diplomacy started in 2004 at the Consulate General of Haiti in Miami, where he had been promoted to become Consul General Al to represent Haiti and advocate for thousands of Haitians in Florida, especially to support the victims of hurricane Jeanne in 2004. In 2005, Marckly was the first ever appointed Haitian Consul in Orlando, Florida implementing the opening a of new consular bureau in that region. He was also known in South Florida as a social worker with years of field experience assisting individuals in need such as: at risk youth, workers and unemployed peoplefrom 1999 to 2004. Mr. Joseph was given the titles Case Manager and Job Developer at the largest employment and Career Center in the State of Florida: South Florida Workforce/Northside One Step Career Center. His dedication to community services and support to vulnerable populations have largely contributed to the creation of thousands of jobs for south floridians, where for over 2 years he had supervised the employment services as the lead job developer.
Previously in 1988, Mr. Joseph had also contributed to the Caribbean research program of Georgetown University groups in Washington DC and the Center for Haitian studies in Miami. In addition, he contributed to the training of Haitian journalists in the US Embassy programs in Haiti. In 1994, Mr. Joseph had served as journalist and interpreter in the UN peacekeeping Miss in Haiti (MINUHA). Marckly was a trained journalist, lecturer and host of the organization radio talk show Leadership International. Marckly had a keen understanding of geopolitical affairs and a loyal foresight on future events. His eyes reflected his ardent desire and dream to see a renewed Haiti. Hence, he embarked with all his might in the promotion of Rethink Haiti, a movement that harnessed the passion, talent and potential of young Haitian men and women.
A passionate student of diplomacy he courted and gained the admiration of many who thought about, worked for, and promoted Haiti on the diplomatic front. He cherished Dr. Myrlande Manigat’s wealth of knowledge. He relished his exchanges with the late Interim Prime Minister Gerard Latortue, his mentor and Ambassador Myrtho Bonhomme amongst others.
Marckly was a loyal and sincere friend, a wise counselor to many, and above all, a loving father. He took pride in thesuccess of his 3 children and never doubted them. He was always enthusiastic and speaking highly of them whenever asked. He was patient, always made sure his family was safe, and provided for their well being by being a fun dad and also a concerned dad. Just like any father, he gave eye-opening advice on life and instructions on overcoming obstacles. He was a goal-oriented father, tracking the academic prosperity of his children at any circumstance, and providing any help necessary to reach such goals at a moment's notice. He was also a kind hearted uncle who treated his nieces and nephews as if they were his own children.
The way Marckly treated his friends and family reflected his strong faith in God which he kept till the very end. He was anavid gospel enjoyer and took time out of his day for silent prayerwhich he gave much importance to, as he often reminded others to pray and to please the Lord to the best their ability.
Marckly will be missed by his children: Christella Joseph, Kerdes Joseph, Brian Joseph and their mother Netty Buissereth; His brothers and sisters: James Joseph, Theny Joseph, Martha Sampayo, Elizabeth Joseph, Djimy Joseph, Sadrac Joseph, Katie Joseph. His nephews and nieces: Jefferson Joseph, Meroodjy Joseph, Samantha Joseph, Tches Joseph, Marlie Belizaire Sampayo, Isabella Sampayo, Diana Joseph, Djimy Ariel Joseph, Keith Joseph, Jerry Joseph, Jean Gardy Joseph, Tatiana Douyon, Kayla Douyon, Kyle Douyon, Jeffrey Dujour, Joshua Joseph, Jonathan Joseph, Jason Pierrre, Juliette Pierre, Esthelle Joseph, Jessica Joseph.
LE COUP DU DESTIN : ADIEU A MARCKLY JOSEPH
Partir si jeune est un calvaire dit un vieux philosophe.Pourtant, le coup du destin vient de frapper l’un des meilleurs du monde, Marckly Joseph. Le Consul Marckly rêvait de devenir Ministredes Affaires Étrangères d'Haiti et se prépare maintenant à jouerce role dans un nouveau monde.
Cette nouvelle me secoue littéralement, on dirait un séisme, puisque Marckly Joseph m'apparaîssait comme un êtreimmortel que j’ai connu comme penseur, leader croyant dans la notion du leadership, un fervent lutteur de la presseindépendante, un orateur infatigable , qui n’avait que des mots d’espoir à partager.
Marckly Joseph adorait rire et rien ne semblait le prédestiner un jour à un départ aussi prématuré. Rien ne pouvait prévoir qu’unjour on écrirait sur lui au passé.
Il ne croyait pas qu’on en arriverait là. Il ne désespérait pas de revenir un jour vivant, sur la terre sacrée de ses ancêtres cacospour se battre et reconstruire la vie pour tout son peuple. Et puistout à coup une nuit profonde enveloppait le camarade, l'emmènant au loin dans un autre monde , parmi les étoiles ouseuls existent des Archanges comme lui.
Il vivait comme un partenaire du peuple Il ne part point ensilence , sans rien faire. Au contraire, des milliers sont devenusmaîtres du leadership grâce à lui, les aidant à abandonner touteforme de résignation.
Ce n’est pas une feuille morte qui s’en va, mais un arbre qui rentre dans la terre par les racines. Marckly Joseph détestait le deuil , les cercueils, adorait la santé, le travail fournissait du travail en diaspora et surtout la vie. Pourtant il a fait la connaissance d‘un silence profond aux couleurs délavées enterre américaine. Il s’est évadé vers l’Inconnu, son portrait s’échappant des peintures de souffrance qui marquent son esprit. Toutefois, il refuse encore d’accepter l’oubli.
