Marie Licile Philoma was born on October 17th, 1950, in Jeremie, Haiti, to the parentage of the late Abner Philoma and Icilia Meraud. At the tender age of 18, Marie left Jeremie and moved to Port-Au- Prince. Her goal was to be successful and be able to help her family back home. She worked at a dry cleaner and was consistently sending money back home. At the age of 23, she met and fell in love with Anthony Blanc. They were married and had three (3) beautiful daughters: Marie Herta Blanc, Sherly Blanc and Pricile Blanc.
Marie was a hard worker and goal driven. Her desire to be successful drove her to become an entrepreneur; travelled to Panama and Dominican Republic importing & exporting goods. She was very successful and took care of her immediate and extended family.
Marie was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, and friend. She loved her daughters and did everything humanly possible to make sure they were well taken care of. Her love for her family was dear and genuine. While her husband was in the United States, she protected her daughters like a lioness protecting her cubs. For a woman to raise three (3) daughters in Haiti and kept them safe, it was tough. Her entire life was devoted to her daughters and their safety. She adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Her vision was to see her grandchildren graduate college. Unfortunately, God has chosen to take her early.
Marie was respected and loved by everyone she encountered. Most of her church friends knew her as “manman bon grann” because she loved to help others. She was a woman with strong character who always honored her words. Marie was compassionate and kind. As a major distributor, she worked with the smaller retailers and allowed them excess time to pay. All her friends came to her for advice.
Marie loved serving the Lord. She prayed morning, noon, and night every single day consistently. When she was not praying or singing, she loved listening to Christian music and listening to her favorite Radio Shalom.
On March 18th, 2023, she passed away peacefully. Her daughters and everyone else she left behind will surely miss her presence. Her caring nature and loving spirit will always be with us. It was truly a blessing knowing Marie was a devoted servant of Christ. Therefore, we can rest be assured that she is in heaven with God. The angels need to be ready to sing and give glory to God every single day because that is surely how Marie will have it.
