Madame Marquise Anne Francois was born on December 27, 1946 in Vallieres, Haiti to the late Angrand Anderson and Nezida Lareche. You will never know it by her cool, calm, collected demeanor, but when she was 11 years old she was involved in a fight at school protecting her younger sister, Theolene. As a result, her father sent her to live in Cap-Haitien where she attended the “Medita Montreuil” school until 11th grade then transferred to St-Catherine Couture School for more practical schooling. By the age of 20-21, she moved to New Providence, the most populous island in the Bahamas, for a better life. There, she met a good-looking fellow by the name of Adno Francois, who she later married in 1968. She continued to travel back and forth between the Bahamas, Haiti, South Florida trying to create a better life for herself and her family. Although most of her travel had been for business, some of her Church friends were able to convince her to take a European Cruise and a Caribbean cruise in an attempt to enjoy life and allow herself to recharge. She was always on the go even when her health was trying to get in the way. Throughout her travel, she had made lasting friendship, created a blueprint for her children and has helped many that had crossed her path. She was a decent human being. Regardless of life difficulties, uncertainties she stayed a true believer. She had faith in God and always believed that things will get better. She was always involved in Church activities and lived in an exemplary way for her children and grandchildren. In late 2013, she lost her mother, Nezida Lareche; in 2014, her younger brother, Peterson Angrand and in 2016, her older brother, Charles Angrand. This year, 2017, she was diagnosed with liver cancer. Although she was scared, she never stopped believing in the Almighty and eventually underwent successful treatment. She continued to work despite advices to stop or slow down. Some people just can’t stop working; It’s in their DNA. It’s the need for continuous independence. She was making plan for Haiti, for the upcoming Holidays when she started to complain that she was not feeling well and by Friday November 10, 2017 she was admitted at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL and passed away three days later. On Monday, November 13, 2017, Marquise Anne Francois, at the age of 70 years old, was called Home to be with the Lord.
