Menes Remy

Today we are here to celebrate the life of the Patriarch of our family MENES REMY

Menes Remy peacefully departed from this life surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Interfaith Hospital, Brooklyn, New York. Menes “Boss” Remy son of the late Exila Excellent and Victor Esperance was born on May 13, 1935, in Karem, Saint-Louis du Sud. He attended Cherette school, went on to vocational school, and later became a Tailor. As a Tailor, Mr. Menes served his community for many years, he was the only tailor in his village. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others, but more than anything Boss Menes was a man of God.

Menes united to Jesumene Aritus in holy matrimony in July 1963. In 1971, he left Haiti for St-Marteen where he worked for there for several years. In 1978 Boss and wife departed to the USA. They spent many years between Brooklyn NY and Irvington, NJ. In 1997 he moved to Orlando, Florida. In September 2002 Boss Menes lost the love of his life, Jesumene Aritus. She preceded him in death after a protracted battle with an aggressive cancer. Thereafter, he met his second wife, Marie Michelle, who passed away after a brief battle with cancer December 2022.

Boss loved spending time with his family & friends, sharing stories, and playing dominoes. He was always there to offer help, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges he faced.  Boss Menes beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children: 8 Children Beraid (RIP), Francoise Remy, Nadia Remy-Venord, Dina Remy-Griffon, Pierre Remy, Mesner Remy, Meleck Remy, Kizzy Remy Gednas and (Adopted daughter Erchelle Dorelus). His 15 Grandchildren: Sue-Gweneth Venord, Henley Griffon, Ludwyn Venord, Berold Esperance, Brittney Remy, Jeson Beljour, Jephte Beljour, Lindie Esperance, Darvin Remy, Marlon Remy, Alyssa Remy, Nathanael Griffon, Melisha Remy, Dominique Gednas, Markus Remy and 1 Great Grandson Kerly Esperance. Carobert. Clare and Vanel (just to name a few). A host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, countless extended family and friends.

May the Almighty God show each of us the power of his love and comfort! Rest in Peace Boss.
