Norrilia D. Clerger

February 3, 1936 — December 27, 2018

Norrilia D. Clerger

Mrs Norrilia was born in 1936 in Grand Font Saint Louis de Sud. She was married for 45 years to her husband and had 7 children, 6 are living today.

Norrilia was a servant of God, wife, and mother who worked very hard to raise her children. She was a model, a virtuous woman who fear the Lord. Most of all, she was a ‘proverb 31 woman.’

Norrilia Clerger became an American resident in 2006 and returned to Haiti in 2007. After a year in Haiti, Norilla returned to America and suffered multiple strokes. After this she returned to Haiti in 2008 where she remained for four years. During those years in Haiti her husband passed away and she became a widow.

Norilla returned to America in 2012 where she was brought to the hospital by her daughter Vela. The reason for this emergency hospital visits to Florida hospital was because she was about to have a stroke and the surgeons needed to place a stent in her coronary artery. Since this time the right side of her body was completely paralyzed, and she required advanced care. She was placed in The Florida Living Nursing Center where she remained there five years. During this time her daughter, Vela spent a considerable amount time with her and ensure she received proper treatment from the nursing facility. Norrilias’ children and grandchildren would routinely visit her and spend time checking on her care.  In August of 2018, she suffered another stroke which deteriorated her health further. As a result of this stroke, she could not consume food and developed aphasia (loss of speech). Her health continued to decline and by December of that year Norillia contracted pneumonia. After this the attending physician spoke with her daughter about placing her in hospice care because of her poor prognosis. However, placing Norrilia in hospice care was not viewed as acceptable by her family. On December 27th at 4:50am, The Lord called Norrilia home
