Pastor Johnny Blanc, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Johnny was born on February 2, 1962, in Gonâve, Haiti, to Neifid Anel and Kamil Blanc. He had five sisters: Guirline Joseph, Yvose Joseph, Nounoun Joseph, Cersilly Mathe, and Elsy Blanc. He also had one brother, Murat Joseph. His nieces and nephews include Anne-Christie Joseph, Berlanda Joseph, Neila Denozil, Natacha Anicette, Mackenson Anicette, Rubens Senecharles, Junior Senecharles, Jean-Gardy Senecharles, Ralph Pierre, Fabiola Blanc, Marthelie Mathe, John Munnet, and many more family members who will miss him dearly.
Johnny was raised in Port-de-Paix and later moved to Port-au-Prince, where he attended Lekol Free, a middle school, before pursuing higher education. Johnny’s deep calling to serve God led him to the Nazarene Seminary, where he graduated with his pastoral degree in 1986.
After graduation, Johnny began his career in ministry as a librarian at the pastoral seminary. He soon worked as an assistant pastor in Port-au-Prince alongside Pastor Anel at Delma 33. In 1989, Johnny was transferred to Cazal, where he became the head pastor of the Church of the Nazarene. It was there that he met Marielle Joseph, and they married in 1990, blessed with four beautiful daughters: Jenny Blanc Marcelus, Rachelle Blanc Milfort, Mandalie Blanc, and Adelda Blanc.
Johnny was a man who loved his family deeply. His eldest daughter, Jenny, married Jean Powell Marcelus, and together they were blessed with a daughter, Amayah Nancy Marcelus. Rachelle Blanc Milfort married Jeno Milfort, and they have two children, Chloe Grace and Jacob John Milfort. Johnny’s commitment to his family and faith was evident throughout his life.
In addition to his ministry, Pastor Johnny was passionate about education and empowering the youth in his community. He founded a professional school that offered education in scouting, band, and secondary schooling, ensuring future generations had access to learning and opportunity. Johnny also introduced telecommunication in Cazal, becoming the first person to establish communication via telephone in the area. He went on to found Radio Gethsemane 95.5 FM, where he worked tirelessly to bring a message of hope and faith to his community.
Johnny’s career included 12 years as the Director of Project HA690 for Compaction International. Despite facing significant persecution from the government, he left his homeland in 2002 and relocated to the United States, where he continued his work in faith and service. In 2003, he became the pastor of the Metropolitan Church of the Nazarene in the U.S., where he served with love and dedication.
In addition to his pastoral work, Johnny became a state-certified A/C contractor, founding J Blanc Air Conditioning, and earned his certification on November 13, 2009. In 2014, he joined AT&T and JLL as a mechanical engineer, continuing to excel in his career. In 2017, he reconnected with Pastor Delano and his wife Lizet, offering consistent support to the church, as well as the Bethesda Alliance Church, led by Pastor Jean Beaubrun.
In September 2023, Johnny was diagnosed with colon cancer. Despite undergoing chemotherapy, his health fluctuated, and after a year-long battle, he peacefully passed away on March 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Pastor Johnny’s life was one of selflessness, faith, and dedication. He touched many lives with his kindness, compassion, and commitment to serving God and his community.
Johnny will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to inspire all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marielle Joseph Blanc, their four daughters, and their families. He is also survived by countless friends, congregants, and colleagues whose lives he touched through his work and ministry.
Pastor Johnny will forever remain in our hearts, and his impact will continue to shine brightly through his family, his church, and the many lives he touched. You will be truly missed, and your memory will live on in our hearts forever.
