Rose Desila Deceus

Rose Desila Deceus li te ou bonne manman, le te ou bonne voisine, li te ou bonne zanmie avec ou bonne cour pour toute moune, specialement pour toute ti moune!  Rose Desila Deceus was born 99 years ago on the Island of Bas-Limbe, Haiti on July 13, 1920 to her devoted father Saint Hilaire Deceus, and her loving mother, Accimie Sanon.  She was the second born of 4 children. During her early years growing up on the Island of Haiti, Rose could almost always be found sitting alongside her mother learning to sew, telling jokes, and sharing stories as they interact with the local Haitian ladies from the neighborhood.

As a young woman Rose soon developed the same love for sewing as her Haitian mentors from back home.  Rose was not just an ordinary woman; she was the epitome of what is described in Proverbs (31: 10-31) as a capable woman.  On her very own Rose was able to open her home as a refuge helping to care for the children of other women in the neighborhood.  Rosequickly became well known throughout the community of Luci in Bas-Limbe as “Manman toute ti moune” mother to all the children.

In 1945, As a loving and caring woman, Rose pledged her love unconditionally in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life, the late Mr. Fabius Dorisca.  The Lord blessed their union with 8 wonderful children.   Rose was a hardworking mother who cared deeply for her family. She loved her family and her family loved and cherished her in return. Rose was a woman prayer. As a faithful servant of the Lord, she loved to talk about Christ and share words of encouragement with everyone her life touched.

It was a well-known fact that Rose had a heart bigger than her body; she always made sure everyone that came to her home had something to eat.  She was always willing to share whatever she had with others. Friends and Family were one and the same to Rose; she had a way of making family feel like company, and making company feel like… Family!

Rose was preceded in death by her 2 children and her 3 sisters. Sadly on Monday November 18, 2019 the Lord welcomed Rose Desila Deceus to her Heavenly Home, leaving behind to mourn her passing: Her Children:  Deli Dorisca (Elpricia), Maguerite Dorisca (Lorissaint), Exalus Dorisca (Susanne), Provius Dorisca (Jacqueline), Rose M. Dorusca (Dieuseul), Ronald Dorisca (Navilia); 30 Grandchildren ; 43 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends who have been affected by this loss.
