Rosemene Joseph

Rosemene Joseph was born on January 20, 1934, in Saint-Louis du Sud, Haiti, to the late Lefrane and Dorcilia Jean Bart. She was the 2nd oldest of 8 children. She was Baptized in St.Bernard Catholic Church on March 31, 1934. In 1960, Rosemene married Celuis Joseph whom she later had 10 children with. Rosemene who was also known as “Sòmenna”, “grandma”, and known by many as “manman” worked as a farmer. She often exchanged her crops with her late sister Odecia Cobyt who was her best friend. Rosemene and her husband Celuis both worked hard to provide their children with schooling, also helping with the schooling of her late brother Leçoir Jean Barts children. 

 Rosemene was a mother who always made it happen regardless of the challenges put before her. Birthing her children in the countryside like herself, she taught them to be hardworking and resilient, always assisting them to overcome many obstacles they faced in their early lives. 

Rosemene left Haiti in 2002 and migrated to Orlando, Florida, where she spent her time taking care of her children and babysitting numerous children. Rosemene was a social person who enjoyed storytelling, and singing old folklore music, some of which she created on her own. Rosemene was an easy person to talk to. She created special bonds with everyone she encountered, leaving behind many cherished memories for us to forever hold in our hearts.

Rosemene was preceded in death by her parents: Lefrane and Dorcilia Jean Bart; her late children: Lismène, Gérard, Tisè Joseph; her siblings: Leçois, Denièse Jean Bart and Odecia Cobyt. 

 On Monday November 25, 2024, Rosemene was called to her forever home at 1:38pm surrounded by her family. She is survived by her spouse: Celius Joseph; her children: Celinòr Joseph(Elis Joseph), Josette Joseph, Roselle Joseph(Lebonheur Sainteus), Assony Joseph, Celine Joseph, and Serge Joseph(Gislaine Joseph); her grandchildren: Marckemson Veillard, Berry Veillard, FlorJoseph, Farah Joseph, Ellie Wenshel Novembre, Djovenison Novembre, Steevenson Joseph, Lens Yvener Alexandre, Brittny Nicolas, Micky Nicolas, Shawn Michael Joseph, Rose-Merline Joseph, Shawn Jeffrey Joseph, Sergeline Joseph, Gesmy Azor, Tamie Azor, Rosemay Mercival, Dianie Sainteus, Delgraciado Sainteus, Scottelande Sainteus, Desperado Sainteus, Thes-Colovasky Sainteus, Jamesly Sainteus, Stacey Rachel Joseph, Diana Sherly Joseph, Roseline Joseph, Ketty Joseph, James Joseph, Gary Joseph, Emmanuel Joseph; and her great grandchildren: Jonathan Veillard, Wraverly Veillard, Jayden Veillard, Ackerly Veillard, Marie Maeta Prochette, Marcus Telamon Prochette, Julian Lorenzo Joseph, Neveah Joseph, Bryant Ulysse, Barack Ulysse, Bryson Ulysse, Bluevera Ulysse, Bryan Scott Verdynee, Ryan Scott Verdynee, Rose-Brianca Altemar Azor, Anne-Lorie loraure, Chloe Gabriella Sainteus, Wolson Suprice, Lohick Dorval, Kaelan Brinvilus, Leah Joseph, Wilckensley Nazaire, Bennoni Nazaire Woldens, Mandy Blanc.
