Sebastien Jean-Louis

In the magnificent City of Light, Paris, on September 27, 1974 Sebastien came to life from the deeds of Claire Edith Jean-Louis and his late father Dongo Yemo Mobutu. He was the first born, followed by two sisters and a brother. After an early childhood in France, the family lived first in New York before heading to Miami where they became acquainted with the teaching of the Body of Christ, at Lively Stone Church of Miami. There Sebastien surprised everyone when, one day in service, he walked toward the band and installed himself behind the drum and spontaneously played extremely well without prior training! Needless to say that he earned himself a spot in that band. Since that day he became the gifted drummer of the church and soon ended up playing in many churches of the Body of Christ while traveling with his pastor at that time, Reverend Woolly Doriscar. Sebastien excelled in school but at the same time felt a responsibility toward his family. At the age of 13, he started working in Arbetter, a sandwich store in Miami, to help his mother. However, his mother taught him to save his money even though he wanted to spend it on his siblings. Sebastien was 14 years old when his mother married the man who became his nurturing father. During that same period, Sebastien was found to have a brain tumor. The physicians didn't expect him to live. His natural and spiritual family petitioned to the Lord. After 4 brain surgeries, the Lord added 28 years to Sebastien's life who traveled throughout the Body of Christ, served the Lord faithfully and became a source of inspiration for so many! Despite his limitations after his brain surgeries, working was still in his mind. For a period of time, he labored at Maximum Protection, an insurance company, owned by Brother Emmanuel Zizi. He volunteered at MOSI, the museum of science in Tampa. Whether in the local church or at the campground where he enjoyed going every year, Sebastien was a hard worker in the kitchen area, helping with love and true dedication. Reflecting on Sebastien's life, Sabrina, his sister wrote: "My brother, my brother Sebastien was my role model. I admired his strength, resilience and perseverance. Despite his circumstances, he never complained or questioned God. On those days where he didn't feel well, he would not allow that to stop him from attending church. He would dance and praise God, never taking life for granted. Many others in his shoes would have asked God: "Why me?" But Sebastien's faith never wavered. Not once. He lived his life for God. He had no interest in worldly things. His interest was the word of God. He lived his life as a true man of Christ. During our last conversation with him, he told me that he was not going to be here for much longer. He said that he wasn't trying to make me cry but that God was preparing his people. Without a doubt, I believe my brother received his white robe and is in the presence of the Lord." His other siblings added, "Yes, Sebastien was courageous and was ready to see his Heavenly Father. He was an inspiration to all of us" On the evening of August 17, 2017, Sebastien, as he always wanted, was home surrounded by all his natural family, some of his spiritual family including the overseer of the Orlando Gospel Assembly, Br. Robert Walker and his wife who were singing, praying, praising God and speaking in tongues when he took his last breath on this side of life to transition on the other side of life toward eternity, resting from his deeds! He left precious memories to be pondered by his parents, Joël and Claire Hilaire, his siblings Sabrina (husband Jerome Mickens), Erika, George (wife Stephaney King), his fraternal brother Sebastien Dongo Yemo Mobutu; his aunts Gisele Charles- Pierre, Phoebe Archer; his uncles Ludrick Jean-Louis (wife Rosa), Clark Jean-Louis (wife Fatie), Chef Mario Jean-Louis, Pierre August Jean-Louis; his nephews and nieces King Josiah Muriuki, Jaila Mickens, Jerome Mickens III, Joanna Claire Mickens, Geohaney King, Gabrielle King, George Gelagha King II; his cousins Evry Archer Junior, Rolande Charles-Pierre, Jacques Charles-Pierre Junior, Gregory Charles-Pierre, David Charles-Pierre, Deborah Charles, Donata Joseph, Lisa Joseph Metellus, Natalie Jean-Louis, Rudolph Jean-Louis, Patrick Jean-Louis, Yvelande Jean-Louis, Maxine Jean-Louis, Marsha Jean-Louis also known as Shelly Dixon, Urie Jean-Louis, Petrus Jean-Louis and all other family members deeply affected by Sebastien's departure: Borgella, Ford, Nicolas, Williams, Gilbert, Plantin, Fougy, Mobutu.
