Verdil Justilien

Verdil Justilien; a man who meant so much to all of us. He was a caring father, loving grandfather, devoted brother, and wonderful husband.

Verdil was born on December 9, 1944, in Port-de-Paix, Haiti. He dwasraised by his parents and completed his education in Haiti. In 1978, he met the love of his life, Vierge Dorisme, and they married in 1980. Together, they had five children: Franeuse, Ilianeuse, Graçieuse, and twins, Elvernise and Enverdieu. In 1983, Verdil moved to the Bahamas for three months, and then to the United States. He traveled back and forth to Haiti to visit his family until they were finally able to join him in the U.S.

Verdil had a deep faith, always smiling, and brought joy to everyone around him. Verdil’s faith in God was the foundation of his life. He loved going to church and supported other churches as well. He was always willing to lend a hand, and his kindness touched everyone he met. He showed us how to live with love and compassion. Whether it was with a smile, a joke, or a game of dominos with friends; Verdil knew how to enjoy life’s simple pleasures.

On Thursday, October 10, 2024, Verdil Justilien transitioned to eternity and today, we come together to honor his life, love, and legacy. If he were here today, he would remind us to exercise our right to vote, something he cared deeply about. Though he is no longer with us, his memory lives on in his children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate to know him.

Although we will miss him deeply; we find comfort knowing he is resting peacefully with God. Verdil’s warm smile, his love for games like dominos and cards, and his generous spirit will be missed by everyone who knew him. Let’s remember the love, faith, and kindness he shared with us all. Rest in peace our beloved father, grandfather, brother, and husband. You will always be in our hearts.
