Wilfrid was born on January 22, 1937 in Port de Paix, Haiti to his lovely parents: Gabrielle Pierre Philippe and Pierre Armand.
From his early age he went to Port-au-Prince and lived with his aunt Stephanie Pierre Philippe until he married Marie Claude Woolley. Together they embraced their 4 Children: Claudine Irva Pierre Philippe, Myriam Ollivier, Wilfrid Jr Pierre Philippe and Christine Ebbe in addition to the others he considered and raised as his own children: Junot Apollon, Carole Woolley, and Carolyne Jean Baptiste.
Wilfrid worked until his retirement and occupied several roles at “L’ Administration Generale des Douanes.” He moved to South Florida in 2003 to be closer to his family; a testament to the love and deep connections that meant so much to him.
He was a man of strength, resilience, and passion. Soccer was one of his greatest joys, but beyond that, he had an unshakable spirit. Wilfrid faced life’s challenges head-on, overcoming 3 strokes with remarkable determination; always finding the strength to stand again.
On Sunday March 9th, 2025 at North Shore Medical Center, Wilfrid took his final breath, at the age of 88. In his last moments he was surrounded by the people who loved him most; his children, wife and his cherished family.
Though he is no longer with us, we take comfort in knowing that he is now our guardian angel watching over us with love and protection.
Papi, you will always be loved, never forgotten and will foreveralive in our hearts.
Wilfrid is survived by his siblings: Yolande Romain, Michel Armand, Rose Marie Sterling and Soeur Pierre Marie Armand. By his cousins: Laurent Pierre Philippe and Marie Marthe Bien Aimee; By his grandchildren: Kayla Pierre Philippe, Marissa Ebbe, and his grandchild by heart Zachary Nicholas; Nieces and nephews: Doumic Romain, Laura Romain, Pinel Romain; By his extended family: Manga Ebbe, Vincent Ollivier and the Apollon’s Family.
